Rutland Plastic Technologies selects IVS.Warehousing for SYSPRO ERP For almost forty years, Rutland Plastic Technologies has developed products that make the screenprinting process easier, more attractive, and more profitable. Their plastisol screen printing inks are the number one, worldwide. Their world-class manufacturing facility is in Pineville NC and they operate distribution warehouses in Charlotte NC, Columbus OH, and Miami FL. The initial phase of the implementation addresses the labeling and tracking of finished goods. All items packaged for sale to customers as well as items purchased for re-sale will be identified with a unique WMS Control ID. This unique identifier allows tracking of production batches, lot numbers and expiration dates. Functionally, the WMS will handle all order fulfillment task including warehouse transfers, suggested put-away, picking, shipping, replenishment and cycle counting. The WMS utilizes SYSPRO’s e.net solutions business objects to electronically post all inventory activity to the ERP. The real-time interface eliminates manual key entry of data. Sufix Fishing selects IVS.Warehousing for US Distribution Center Sufix Fishing is a world leader in monofilament extrusion. Already, Sufix is among the top brands in 64 countries, and the company's focus is now on the U.S. market. To better serve this growing market, Sufix Fishing North America was formed and a new distribution center was opened in Greensboro, NC. The new DC supports a variety of channel partners from specialty tackle shops to large retailers such as Wal-Mart and Dick’s Sporting Goods. The goal in establishing the DC was to provide state-of-the-art automated order fulfillment for customers both large and small. This included wireless (and paperless) order picking, automated generation of UCC labels, packing slips, carrier compliance labeling and EDI ASN notifications. Sufix selected the IVS.Warehousing WMS application combined with the Kewill Clippership shipping system to automate the order fulfillment process. The WMS is interfaced to both their host ERP system (Southware) and their EDI provider (True Commerce). With the WMS, orders are picked directly into the shipping carton, utilizing the most efficient pick path. Compliance labels and packing slips are generated on demand and the EDI transmission is sent automatically. By improving the efficiency of their order fulfillment process, Sufix has been able to increase their volume without adding personnel. LXE introduces new HX2 Wearable Computer. Shipments have begun on the new HX2 Wearable Computer from LXE. Designed so that operators can benefit from having both hands free to accomplish the task at hand, these wearable computers are perfect for warehouse picking applications including piece picking to carts, containers or conveyers; case picking; small parcel moves; and broken case activities. LXE’s line of wearable terminals includes the same legendary toughness as the rest of their ultra-rugged wireless computers - impact resistant screens, dust and moisture resistant enclosures, and accessories that are as tough as their terminals. Used in conjunction with a finger mounted “ring scanner”, they provide barcode scanning accuracy while keeping the operator’s hands free. Legacy Classic Furniture, a premier importer of furniture designed for “Middle America”, recently opened a new 347,000 sq. ft. facility in High Point NC. The warehouse manages and distributes over 25 collections including bedroom, dining room and children’s furniture. The furniture is manufactured at their 4 million sq. ft. state of the art facility in Shanghai, China. In order to provide a logistical system to meet the stringent demands of this new import model, Legacy implemented Oracle ERP and IVS.Warehousing. The Oracle ERP system provides availability information on all inventory and streamlines customer ordering and tracking functions. IVS warehousing improves the efficiency of warehouse operators and tracks each piece of furniture from “cradle to grave”. By combining the attributes of both systems, Legacy Classic Furniture has implemented a solution that has greatly increased their order fulfillment capacity and improved their warehouse operations. David Levi, IVS President and CEO published in Fortune Small Business magazine. The theme for the issue is “Extreme Customer Service”. The editors were interested in the lessons learned by entrepreneurs in the course of managing their own business. As IVS enters its fifteenth year of operation, there have been numerous lessons learned and much experience gained. Our secret for success lies in our long term relationships with our clients. Acme United goes live with Work Order Management module Acme United implemented the IVS.Warehousing Work Order Management module to enhance inventory tracking in the assembly/kitting area of the distribution center. The module is fully integrated with their SYSPRO ERP system and all updates to the Work Order – consumption, issues, returns to stock and production – are updated automatically via SYSPRO e.net solutions framework. When a Work Order is released in SYSPRO, all pertinent information including the Work Order’s bill of materials (BOM) is automatically imported into the WMS database. Operators utilizing wireless terminals are directed to the materials to be pulled and the system confirms that the right product and quantity are issued to the job. The system can also track lot#, expiration date, etc. of the products used to produce the finished goods. When production is recorded, bar-coded labels are printed for the finished goods. A configuration option lets the user determine if goods are “produced” when the labels are printed or have to be “confirmed” by a material handler in the warehouse before they are considered inventory. An audit trail of all Work Order activity is maintained. Burt's Bees Implements Master Case Order Fulfillment Burt’s Bees has implemented Phase III of their WMS installation, Master Case Order Fulfillment. Utilizing enhancements to the standard IVS.Warehousing Pick to Stage functionality, the new process streamlines the order picking and shipping process in this volume area. Wholesale orders for Master Case level items are created in customer service and imported into IVS.Warehousing. They are electronically assigned to pickers in the Master Case Pick Zone. Both full and partial pallet picks are supported and the contents of the pallet are “linked” to a unique Container ID. Utilizing Zebra mobile wireless printers attached to the lifts, customer specific product labels (which include the customer’s sku number, PO number and shipping address) are generated and applied to each master case. When the order is complete, the unique Container ID is scanned from a mobile Kewill Clippership® shipping station for shipment by parcel or LTL carrier. IVS incorporates Truckmate BOL module into shipping process Truckmate, the Bill of Lading module for Clippership, was incorporated into the shipping process to provide an additional level of automation. The module is the consolidation point for the BOL data supplied from Clippership. When a BOL is created in Clippership, the data is “pushed” to the Truckmate Database. This integration allows the BOL Number and the Pro Number to be returned to IVS.Warehousing as soon as the transaction is processed so that they can be included on the ASN labels. At the end of the day when the carriers are scheduled to arrive, the operators can launch Truckmate and select the BOL's they want printed. Truckmate can also look up previously generated BOL's, eliminating the need to file paper copies in a file cabinet. Truckmate can be configured to print either Straight Bill of Lading forms or the VICS format to a plain paper laser printer, avoiding the need for preprinted forms. Customized forms are also available. The state-owned warehouse, managed by LB&B Associates Inc., is located in Raleigh NC. It is responsible for the receipt, storage and distribution of spirituous liquor throughout the state of North Carolina. The warehouse operates under a bailment system in which the ownership of the product remains with the distillery until it is delivered to the local ABC Boards. Orders from the local ABC Boards are imported into Macola’s customer order system which is interfaced to the WMS. The system assures that all of the orders for the “route” are picked and loaded onto company operated trucks.
